Holiday Deep Cleaning Checklist: Get Your Pasadena Home Guest Ready
A before-guests-arrive timeline and a room-by-room checklist for Thanksgiving and holiday hosting.
Nothing shows you the dust on a ceiling fan quite like knowing a houseful of people is coming for Thanksgiving.
The good news is that you do not need a perfect house. You need the rooms your guests will use to feel clean and comfortable, and a plan that does not leave everything for the night before.
This holiday deep cleaning checklist Pasadena hosts can print works backward from the day guests arrive, then goes room by room. Use it whether you are hosting Thanksgiving dinner in Bungalow Heaven or putting up relatives for the Rose Parade.
Start With What Your Guests Will Use
Your guests will come through the entry, gather in the living room, and likely end up in the kitchen. Overnight visitors will also use the guest bathroom and guest bedroom. Those five spaces are the priority, so start there and let the rest of the house wait.
Fall is also a good time to look for dust you may not have noticed. Dry, windy weather can leave a fine layer on window sills and around the front door, so give those spots a closer look. This list is a planning guide for your home, not a list of what any MaidMe service includes.

What You Can Handle Yourself
Plenty of holiday prep is easiest to do yourself, because it depends on knowing your home and your guests:
- Sorting and decluttering. Only you know what stays, what goes, and which closet can hold the overflow.
- The refrigerator cleanout. You know what is still good and what you will need room for on the big day.
- Guest touches. Fresh bedding, an empty drawer, extra blankets, and decorations are the details that make a room feel ready for your guests.
- Last-minute touch-ups. Wiping the counters, swapping a hand towel, and sweeping the front step can wait until the morning guests arrive.
When Professional Help Makes Sense
- It has been months since your last thorough clean. Our deep cleaning service goes after the buildup on cabinet exteriors, baseboards, door frames, grout, ceiling fans, and vents.
- You want the help just this once. Our one-time cleaning has no long-term commitment and covers your main living areas, kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms, and floors. You can tell us your priorities for the visit when you book.
- Your time is going to the hosting. Between menus, shopping, and travel plans, handing off the cleaning lets you focus on the food and your guests.
- Some of the work is hard on your body. If scrubbing grout or reaching ceiling fans is more than you want to take on, this is a good place to ask for help.
What to Mention When You Request a Quote
- When your guests arrive and which rooms matter most.
- Whether you would like the inside of the refrigerator or oven cleaned, which is a paid add-on to a deep clean.
- Whether you need linens changed, which is an add-on to a one-time cleaning.
